On the slopes of Obertauern, families with children, rank beginners and accomplished ski enthusiasts will all find their perfect place to ski.
Just one lift ticket will allow guests to use a total of 26 modern lifts to help them discover the charms of Obertauern. You can choose from gondolas, several chair lifts, chair cabins combined with ski lifts and six surface lifts. By using these convenient connections and well-connected lifts, you will be able to get to all slopes and you can always return to where you started from.

Plenty of snow
The ski tourism researcher Günther Aigner has studied the availability of snow in various regions. The result was unequivocal. Obertauern was the leader and had the highest ranking of any region for snow availability. Unlike other areas, our guests never have to worry about the availability of snow in Obertauern. From early November to early May, the mountain resort is covered with white gold.
A snowy holiday in Obertauern is guaranteed.

Tauernrunde
The Tauernrunde is quite popular with many guests in Obertauern – and for good reason! On this well-known ski circuit, every skier can explore the region on skis and will be treated to awesome views of the Obertauern mountains.
There are two ways to use the Tauernrunde. With its 7 lifts, the green Tauernrunde moves counterclockwise, but on the red Tauernrunde, skiers can use the 9 lifts to move clockwise. Access is available at nearly every lift for both directions on the Tauernrunde.

Gamsleiten 2
For courageous, experienced skiers and snowboarders, starting out at Gamsleiten 2 is definitely worth checking out. One good reason is that this mountain station is at an elevation of 2,313 meters, and is the highest point in the entire ski area. The charming 2-chairlift ride will be a very special treat that you won’t soon forget. This steep and challenging descent will be a challenge to your courage and skills. That’s why it might be a good idea for beginners to stay away from Gamsleiten 2.

Night skiing
In Obertauern night is turned into day, and not just in the party area. On the slopes as well you can zip along on freshly groomed slopes under the stars. Every Monday and Thursday guests who didn’t get enough skiing during the day, can go for the special thrill of night skiing on the Edelweissbahn from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Skiing and snowboarding schools
Children and beginners will find excellent, world-class ski schools in the area, all staffed by competent and qualified instructors. We recommend the Koch Ski School since the assembly spot and the practice area are both right at the Sonnenbahn cableway. In addition, special rates and services for our guests.
